Consider People X, characters in a fictional script, who don't know that they are. They believe they are simply ordinary people, living in ordinary neighbourhoods, in an ordinary city, but in fact, every little detail of their lives is carefully orchestrated, planned, and written down. Their fictional city is surrounded by a tall, thick, deep forest with no end, impossible to penetrate. They never attempt to leave their city, convinced that those who go in, never come back. They do, however, get to do pretty much everything they want to do, leading a life similar to that of a people in any city, apart from the fact that they live in an isolated world defined by the boundaries of this script.
If you asked them, they would certainly reply that they feel quite in charge of their life. Of course, it is also true that their life is being controlled in a way that manufactures their agency, and thus, their freedom. You are now in posession of this script. If you choose to tear it apart, the forests disappear - People X become a part of our reality.

This proves that if an arts festival wants to, it can accommodate dissent in a way that is enriching and affirming for visitors and artists alike.

An armada of paper boats, installed by the artist Arif Nayeem, with the text of Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s poem, “Hum Dekhenge”—We Shall See—once remain anchored next to the protest gathering. However protests site not only in Shaheen Bagh, but also in Khajoori Khas, Chand Bagh, Mustafabad, Jafrabad now bear a deserted look — they're now ashen, abandoned and poorly kept.

Amidst the Russia-Ukraine war, Ukraine applied to become a member of the EU. At present the application is pending before the EU. Proponents say that the move will disincentivise further aggression towards Ukraine, while opponents say that it will have the opposite effect. EU membership requires number of socio-economic requirements to be met and at present, Ukraine has met only a very limited number of the requirements.

A key part of post-conflict resolution is the trial of perpetrators of violence during the conflict. The current debate revolves around whether these trials should be left in the hands of the nation in question or should be handed over to a UN-backed tribunal or the International Criminal Court.

Central Asian governments have refused to endorse either the invasion or Russia’s annexation of eastern Ukrainian provinces. And even though in January, under the terms of a mutual-security pact, Mr Putin sent troops to Kazakhstan to help counter an attempted putsch, no debt of gratitude exists. The idea that Kazakhstan should “eternally serve and bow down at the feet of Russia” is “far from reality”, Kassym- Zhomart Tokayev, the president, told Russian television. The protocols and body language of meetings between Mr Putin and Central Asian leaders are also revealing. At a gathering last month in Uzbekistan, the Russian president, notorious for keeping world leaders waiting, stood twiddling his thumbs for President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, a small, poor country where Russia is used to calling the shots. At a Russia-Central Asia summit hosted by Kazakhstan last week, Mr Tokayev conspicuously failed to have a one-on-one meeting with Mr Putin. Cumulatively, these signs and slights point to Russia’s waning influence in Central Asia.
Historical ties between the countries run deep. Economic ties are crucial. Central Asia relies on remittances from migrant workers in Russia, as well as imports of sugar and wheat. One of the world’s biggest pipelines carries most of Kazakhstan’s oil to a Russian port on the Black Sea. Russia employs the ability to close it at will. Its security services remain powerful in the region. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are also keen to move closer to Turkey and the West — all part of what Kazakhstan calls a “multi-vector” approach (the development of friendly and predictable relations with all states that play a significant role in world affairs and are of practical interest to the country) to balance between competing powers.

Political realism refers to the philosophy that politics and its discourse should focus upon principles that deal with tangible realities and outcomes, for example, national interest and limited resources. Its primary assumption is that power is and ought to be the primary end of political action.
Political idealism posits that the goal of countries' policies (foreign and otherwise), and consequently political action and discourse on the part of various actors/stakeholders, should be reflective of the world one wishes to create, eg. reduction of poverty, timely and proportional justice, defence of human rights, and redressal of inequity.

Coined by Emmeline Clein in 2019, dissociative feminism describes a subset of feminism characterized by jadedness and “interiorizing our existential aches and angst, smirking knowingly at them.” Dissociative feminism describes women who, once exuberant soldiers of the gender equality movement, are now exhausted past the point of anger. Feminist author Leslie Jamison identifies the root of dissociative feminism as “aching gone implicit,” reflecting a reaction to the recent plateauing of women’s rights reforms.
Dissociative feminism resonates with many women because it describes women’s exhaustion at the stagnant gender revolution and the catharsis of feminine misery.

An example of its portrayal can be seen in the popular show, Fleabag. Like any good dissociative feminist, Fleabag also submits to hopelessness. Certain that fourth-wave feminism will never truly establish gender equality, Fleabag ceases protests against the patriarchy and internalizes her anger, embracing feminine messiness and pain. By her own admission, she is a “greedy, perverted, selfish, apathetic, cynical, depraved, morally bankrupt woman” who can’t even call herself a feminist.
Outside these moments of emotional vulnerability, Fleabag often makes light of her messiness, and views men as vessels through which she can achieve validation; she does not even bother to name the majority of the men with whom she is involved, only referring to them by amusing monikers such as 'Bus Rodent,' and 'Hot Misogynist.'
